Sheekat Nepal is the SIL Manager at Univa Disability Services, where he oversees the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services. In this role, he ensures participants receive high-quality, person-centred care while managing staff, maintaining compliance, and supporting effective service delivery within the SIL program.
Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, Sheekat moved to Australia in 2016 to pursue a Master’s degree in Information Technology Strategic Management, following the completion of his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems in the USA. After relocating to Darwin from Sydney in 2019, he made a significant career shift into the disability sector by completing a Certificate III in Individual Support.
Sheekat began his journey in the NDIS space as a Projects and Disability Support Officer at a Darwin-based service provider, where he worked for four years. In January 2023, he joined United NT Disability Services as a Systems Coordinator and has since progressed into the dual role of Systems and SIL Manager.
He continues to manage SIL houses in Darwin for United NT Disability Services and is now expanding his impact by supporting Univa Disability Services placements across Queensland.
Sheekat is guided by a powerful personal philosophy: “The moment you take responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you can change anything in your life.” His leadership reflects this belief, inspiring those around him to take ownership and create meaningful change.
